What We Do

Rady’s Children’s Hospital

Our Kiwanis club raises funds for Rady’s Children’s Hospital. We started the Miracle Mile of Quarters in La Mesa. Every year we join all Kiwanis Clubs in San Diego to raise money for the Hospital. Our sponsored Youth display “Quarter Art” in competition as we celebrate the funds raised for the year.

College Scholarships

Our Kiwanis club spends time interviewing and selecting High School Seniors to receive large scholarships to the College of their choosing.

Key Club Sponsorships

Our Kiwanis club supports Key Club service projects, facilitate the Key Club meetings, provide mentorship for the students of Helix Charter High School. We help raise funds to support their trips to the Fall Rally at Magic Mountain, where they raise money for Pediatric Trauma. We also help support them in going to their District Convention for workshops and elections.

Christmas Senior Center Breakfast

Our Kiwanis club cooks breakfast and gives gifts to the Seniors at one of our local Senior Centers every December. Key Clubbers from Helix High School join us in serving the Seniors. Local choirs come and sing to the residents. It is one of our favorite traditions.

Nicu Bags for March of Dimes

Our Club buys and packages NICU bags for Mothers of Premies

Key Leader Camp

Our Club sponsors Key Leader Camp every year, where students learn thru workshops and teamwork how to become leaders thru acts of service.

Bike Rodeo and Safety Fair

Our Kiwanis Club enjoys helping out the City of La Mesa with their Bike Safety and Safety Fair events.

Special Olympics

Our club participates in helping out at Special Olympics every year.

Red Shoe Day

Our club raises thousands for Ronald McDonald house by holding soliciting on street corners.
